Broken Boot
The system or virtual machine (VM) is no longer booting?
This can be very difficult to analyze and difficult to fix. Asking in support forums might not result in helpful answers. Fixing this most likely requires being an advanced user or even a very advanced user.
Potential Causes[edit]
- Interrupted updates;
- malware (less likely);
- hardware issues;
- bugs (either in Kicksecure or any components it is based on);
- user misconfiguration;
- third-party software introduced issues.
Potential Problem Solutions[edit]
Options:
- A) Become knowledgeable about the Linux boot process and debugging;
- B) Hire a sysadmin to fix this;
- C) Factory Reset.
The knowledge on how to fix Linux boot issues is a general Linux sysadmin skill and unspecific to Kicksecure.
Some pointers can be found on the Recovery wiki page.
